Objective:

The Coca-Cola Company - NCAA Create an original painting and limited edition prints of Monument Circle, Indianapolis, for The Coca-Cola Company to give in celebration of the NCAA Final Four Men’s basketball event. Recipients were executives from The Coca-Cola Company, CBS and NCAA. One third of recipients live in Indianapolis, so the piece needed to be a contemporary twist to souvenir works that exist, as well as be modern and traditional to appeal to a variety of tastes. Turn around time was less than one month to design, create and deliver.

Strategy - Our Approach:

Clearly understand art direction for painting in regards to subject matter, scope, colors, scale, perspective, and all details and objectives the client wanted to achieve from the painting.

At this point it was crucial to select the right artist for the job: someone who understood the importance of balancing artistic direction from the client while using his own creative license to create a moving and vibrant piece. We chose an established artist with whom we were confident would be able to work under pressure with the tight deadline, guaranteeing a fabulous piece of art without compromise.

The artist provided sketches for the client to approve prior to creating the original painting. Limited-edition giclees on canvas were elegantly framed after each was signed and numbered by the artist. Art cards and matching envelopes were created.

The original was unveiled at the gala luncheon and the recipients received their art cards informing them of the commission and that their gift would be delivered to their office upon their return home from Indianapolis. Janet Helm Presents coordinated shipping the prints to recipients, each receiving a particular numbered print, as requested by the client.

Result:

"They loved it....the cards were a really nice touch. Thank you so much."
